Really missed Korea. So when it was my friend's treat, I asked to take us to Hangang GI. We are 4 girls with many foods that day lol. 2 portion of samgyetang regular, dongtae jonggol, doenjang jiggae, and dolsot nakji bibimbap.
The samgyetang looks exactly the same like on menu's picture! Basically it is a ginseng chicken soup. The soup is white but it tastes so light tho. Samgyetang is always come with rice inside the one whole chicken, the rice with its stickiness is just perfect. The chicken also tastes good and so soft. You can cut all the part easily. Oh and your body will be warm after eat this.
Dongtae jonggol is clams, fish, and vegies in kimchi stew. All good, but we have too many menus that day so we fail to eat that big pot of jonggol.
Donjang jiggae, I have tasted it at its country, so I expect much with Hangang's. It turns out that the soybean paste soup taste is not exactly the same. I tried to stir the soup so at least it blends well, and finally a bit more like the original taste I expect. I still love the original, but this Hangang' is not bad after all. Will definitely come again here for this! Very refreshing stew!
And dolsot nakji bibimbap is very delicious! But I need more octopus please :p
The banchan is nice. I love their kimchi and seaweed.
